Since my posts tend to be a bit controversial, I have decided to give some of your little fingers a rest. Enjoy the fluffy puppy, and I hope its not too fluffy/ugly/etc. for you. Though... it is very white. Perhaps the dog is racist. Hmm...

back again for the first time
Ok guys- i took a vacation from the MJblog- but I'm back.
i've got two things:
1) Sorry for talking about pharamcy too much before
2) Sorry Hayley for criticizing the Brick Testament thing- i should'nt have said what i said in such a harsh way... i still have trouble sometimes with when I need to hold my tounge, even when i feel like i've got something good to say... I know we are all different and feel differently about lots of things and thats a fact a feel that i really value about this group.
OK-
I talked to pappert the other day and he seemed to be doing well (yeah i know he reads and contributes to this blog- i'm just telling you about him from my POV). We talked about his prospects for pharmacy school and I would say right now that he is really heavily leaning in that way and I think thats great. It would be AWESOME (nudge nudge) if he came over to the good old U of T pharmacy school to give me some MJ company down here!
We got up at 8:45 this beautiful saturday morning and did yard work around the good old Phi Delta Chi house... we've got a nice little 1/2-3/4 acre lot (i really cant tell, i just know its not as big as my yard at home.. but by alittle more than half... so i dunno...). That took about 4 hours. I moved a big pile of bricks and rocks from one side of the yard to the back fence... and then we raked the whole thing. We hot somewhere in the area of 35-45 bags of leaves and sticks... i was gonna run today, but that was a good enough work out for me i think...
-warning- the following paragraph is about one of my pharmacy classes, if you are not interrested please skip to the next paragraph-
for our Lab final (this is the class where we make real drugs) i get to CHOOSE something to make and i was thinking i wanted something like a caffine transdermal gel that you could rub on your skin and feel a little buzz... (it is actually possible to make that- it just only keeps for 30 days so you dont see it OTC)... are there any suggestions for what i should make (it cant be a controlled substance i.e. Valium, Xanex, Morphine... ect)?
ok thats all i got- Mandy and i have had a great month so far, but i cant really tell you much about it right now because i've gotta go to a friends to play some cards! have a good week everybody!

i am the frolf master
played a sweet game of frisbee golf today with andy. i ended up with 3 over par on a pretty tough (new) course here in knoxburg. awesome, awesome game. (i think andy had a 7 or something). so if anyone ever wants to play, you know who to call. (me).
yeah, jess and i watched The Passion for the first time last night. to say it was intense is a bit of an understatement. and i think i can guess which 6 min they took out for Recut. good grief. i thought they did a terrific job depicting characters and relationships that you dont generally think about very much(e.g., i never felt pity for judas before jess and i watched and discussed it). even some lines of dialogue that you're used to hearing over and over again, i heard differently than i'd ever imagined them. quite moving to say the least.

The Second Coming
Scott's right--this comic is downright irreverent. I think it means to be funny, but it's not...unless you just really have it out for Christians, or truly and deeply misunderstand some things.
And, barring the creator of this comic having grown up a LOT before writing his Lego bible stories, it seems like the good reverend has just found another outlet, less pungent, for taking out his aggression. That's my take.
There's a huge amount of gray area in theology and in belief...but I think that each of us have a black and white "zone", and that should be respected (right along with freedom of speech and press).
This reminds me of that Question of the Day from HG--Does/should humor have off-limits topics? I guess there will always be differences of opinion?

Busyness!
I leave tomorrow to go to our family farm until Monday (it is snowing there, as opposed to the 80* weather we are having in Houston!), and then after a week of work... I am accompanying Jack to Los Angeles over the weekend for him to put finishing touches on his demo and meet with the album producer. Also, I finally get to meet a few of his band mates, which should be an experience. I've never been to LA, and I'm excited about our little mini-break!
In other exciting news, I have finished paying off my credit card debt accrued from five months of living in Houston and volunteering. Though it wasn't sizeable... I am excited to be debt-free again.
Whitney was up here last week, and we had a good time, complete with the obligatory heart-to-heart sister talks... which I kind of miss. It's neat now that she's at the age where we have real conversations about adult things.... career, goals, sex, marriage, etc. She'll always be a little squid to me though... even when she's 50.

Of Star Wars and Family Guy...
Hey again. Sorry about all the entertainment-related posts, but stuff keeps coming up. I saw the full trailer for Episode III last night (it is playing with Robots) and it was AWESOME!!!! AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!!!! I can't state that enough. I was amazed almost the entire time. Wow. I really hope this redeems the other two, and I think it will. The trailer is also playing during one of the commercial breaks of the O.C. tonight. It is worth sitting through that show if you are a Star Wars fan, believe me. Amazing.
Also for any of you Family Guy fans that haven't heard, new episodes start on May 1st on Fox. It is playing back to back every Sunday with American Dad, the new show by Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane. The episode I saw was pretty funny (same humor and animation style).
Just thought I'd let you all know. Hopefully some of you care.

Sin City
Has anyone else seen a trailer for this movie? I have very high hopes for it. It is all digital and shot entirely on green screens, but that doesn't bother me too much since it is a comic book movie. A film noir comic book movie. Plus the cast is awesome. Who doesn't want to see Elijah Wood as a cannibalistic serial killer? If you are interested, both trailers are online. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed it.
Nothing else worth mentioning. I was feeling pretty crappy over the weekend, but much better now. I think Hayley got me sick...somehow. Don't question it.

Friday, suckas!
No... I will not be home.
Today is Josh's big 23rd. Wish him well.
In other news, I think I have the flu... or am getting some weird hybrid of the bug that is going around the office (stomach-related) and what Jack has (coughing, respiratory crap). Sigh.... I manage to attract the outbreak monkey everytime. However, I am at work because I have a publication deadline today. Dammit.
Everyone have a good weekend... I'll be in bed.
